Every few years, Irovetti, the King of Pitax, summons important guests from all the surrounding kingdoms to participate in the Rushlight tournament. {Name} is now the {King/Queen} — which means {he/she}'s important enough to receive an invitation. Irovetti is a sly dog, and is definitely planning something vile... But that's no reason to miss the celebration!
The tournament will take place in Pitax, on the shores of Rushlight Lake. In fact, that's actually where it gets its name! But let us hurry! I heard they're serving especially delicious wines this year!
The tournament is about to begin — we'd better hurry!

Participate in the first contest of the Tournament
The tournament continues with a boasting contest. It doesn't really matter if you have something to boast about. The main goal is to make your story sound super exciting, so the crowd wants to hear your tales over everyone else's!
In order to join the competition, we should talk to the master of ceremonies, Nunzio Arpaia.

Participate in the third contest of the Tournament
The first two contests change from year to year, but the final one has been the same since the very first Rushlight tournament: the traditional drunken melee. After getting drunk, the participants, armed with blunt weapons, fight in the mud until there's only one left standing!
In order to join the competition, we should talk to the master of ceremonies, Nunzio Arpaia.

Darn it all! We've lost twice. Now we can't win the tournament — but we can still put on a good show!

The tournament is over. King Irovetti wasn't very friendly, but overall everything was settled peacefully. Perhaps this invitation wasn't a dirty trick after all... No! I can't believe that! There must be some kind of catch — or it wouldn't be Irovetti! I think we'll be hearing some news from Pitax in the near future.
This was a disaster! We lost every contest. Well... Like the saying goes, it's not about winning, but taking part!

Hidden Failure
“
I knew it! Irovetti, that scumball, invited us to the tournament for a reason – to disgrace our {King/Queen} and make {him/her} appear unfit to rule! That guy can be trusted in one thing only: he'll never miss an opportunity to stab you in the back!

Walkthrough[ | ]
Visit the Rushlight Tournament in Pitax[ | ]
Go to Rushlight Fields, but be warned that leaving the area before finishing all the events will cause you to fail the quest.
Once on the location, there are several activities you can perform before going for the main event:
Trickery DC 35 check +3840xp, disqualified on failure.
Trickery DC 50 check +61440xp, auto-win on success, disqualified on failure.
You need to win at least two contests or pass a [Trickery 50] check in the third to win the triathlon. Experience-wise best course of action is [Athletics 42] then [Trickery 41] then [Trickery 50].
Participate in the second contest of the Tournament[ | ]
On first stage you will have to respond to Irovetti's accusations:
[Show the guests the signet with Irovetti's monogram] "I too have a most amusing story for you. This ring was given to me by a gnome named Tartuccio, on that bloody night when Swordlord Jamandi Aldori's mansion was attacked..." if you have Tartuccio's Present with you.
Reduces [Diplomacy] DC by 5 and Increase [Bluff] DC by 5 on next stages.
"Watch yourself, Irovetti, or you'll regret it!" or (Neutral) [Stay quiet]
[Bad Tournament Results]
Metagaming[ | ]
The best rewards are achieved by winning first 2 contests and losing Drunken Brawl.
Pick "Lies! Lies and slander! I demand you rescind your words!" or [Stay quiet] as first response, then pass Diplomacy check and then pass Diplomacy/Bluff check.
If you met at least 4 criteria for DC increase you would receive a whooping +122880xp from those checks. But even if you didn't, those choices still give best rewards in your circumstances.
If you purposefully fail to unlock the 3rd chest in Barker's trial, then you can repeat the test indefinitely, earning yourself 288xp for first 2 locks over and over. (Last Version:2.1.7b)
