Description
A sacred sword of Gorum, used to imprison the soul of Armag - one of the greatest warrior in history. It has the blessing of the god of war, yes, but anyone who would take it in their hands must remain vigilant - for the faint of heart, this blessing can easily become a curse.
Ovinrbaane is an object of dispute between Pharasma and Gorum - a symbol of the eerie, short-lived triumph of the god of war over the goddess of death. Not wishing to give his champion, Armag, over to Pharasma and the great River of Souls, Gorum infused Armag's soul into the sword, and for a thousand years, it waited for the time when it could return to the chaos of mortal battles for which it was born.
Effects
The soul within Ovinrbaane can manipulate reality around its wielder, allowing them to cast a small assortment of spells from Abjuration and Transmutation schools.
Each round in combat, the wielder of Ovinrbaane risks falling under its influence and losing control over their actions. Each round the wielder must succeed on a Will saving throw (DC 23) or begin attacking the closest target. Each round afterwards the wielder can make another saving throw to regain control. For every successful saving throw against this influence, the DC of subsequent saving throws is increased by 1 until the end of combat.
