Lost Child is a quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.
Journal[ | ]
“ | What kind of parents would let their child roam through woods where even seasoned adventurers might become something's snack? Looks like our {baron/baroness} may have to babysit {his/her} subjects — literally! | „ |

Heeding the hopeless pleas of a poor village woman named Jenna Tannerson, we're heading out to look for her missing son, Tig — an innocent child who was fool enough to take a stroll through the dangerous forest. We should hurry, or the little brat could end up as a little pile of bones!

Lizardfolk live in a village near Candlemere Lake. They're savages who won't hesitate to eat human meat (they'll even crunch on each other). We found out that they captured a human child. The boy is still alive... but for how long?

We saved the boy from evil spirits, man-eating lizardfolk, and who knows what else! It's time to have a word with his mother at the capital. |

Sadly, we couldn't save the boy — an evil spirit killed him. We need to find his parents and deliver the tragic news. |

“ | Well, that's not what we expected when we went looking for that missing kid! But that's what the Stolen Lands are like: take a step past your fence, and you're likely to meet lizardfolk, evil spirits, or gods know what else! A paradise for adventurers, sure, but why do normal people still live here? | „ |
Walkthrough[ | ]
Find the missing child[ | ]
- On Day 50 (186 days until An Ancient Curse, Part Two) Jenna Tannersen will visit your throne room.
- You can begin this quest during that visit or later, by talking to her in the The Beer Mug Inn.
- However Lizardfolk Village will be revealed regardless, and you can start the quest by visiting the location.
- (Optional) Visit The Old Beldame in Swamp Witch's Hut.
- Asking The Old Beldame about the boy you will roll a hidden Perception DC 26 check (+240xp).
- After talking to The Old Beldame you can return back to Jenna Tannersen and report on that, it would be helpful during encounter with Tig.
- Go to Lizardfolk Village.
- Before you visit the Lizardfolk Village you may get Special Encounter (Rashor). Possibly you can't get that encounter anymore if you enter the Lizardfolk Village.
Save the child from the Lizardfolk Village[ | ]
- At the Lizardfolk Village entrance you will be greeted by Kagar who will mention that Tig could be found in the village. The quest will begin if you haven't picked it up from Jenna Tannersen.
- To free Tig you need to get into the village and deal with Count Shimmerglow.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Tig's survival is mostly dependent on Flag_LizardfolkFear key flag, if you end up fighting Count Shimmerglow you will normally need -2 or lower score for Tig to survive. More on that below.
- You can enter the village in two ways: The main gates and the broken palisade to the east.
- To see the palisade entrance you need to pass Perception DC 15 check. Clicking on it begins Book Event (Lizardfolk Village - Palisade) in which you can either approach the lizardfolk or enter the Spirit Hut.
- If you approach the Gatekeeper or get caught by lizardfolk after entering through palisade gap, you will be given several options to enter the village.
- If you saved Rashor in Special Encounter (Rashor), you won't have to pass the checks or pay tribute to Gatekeeper. Otherwise your options are:
- Diplomacy DC 15 check (+18xp)
- Intimidate DC 15 check (+18xp) [Fear +1]
- (Gates entrance only) Failing [Intimidate] check while having Regongar in party will let you pass.
- Pay 5 Camping supplies and rations if you entered through the gates, or 10 Camping supplies and rations if you got caught after going through palisade gap.
- Attack. The whole village will become hostile.
- Leave (only if came to the gates)
- If you pick the peaceful way, you will be sent to Lizardfolk King Vesket's hut.
- You can ask him about the missing child and convince him to let you see the child in following ways:
- [Requires Lawful]
- [Requires Evil] +480xp
- Diplomacy DC 20 check (+45xp)
- Lore (Religion) DC 20 check (+45xp) (Requires to ask him several questions about his tribe to appear)
- Intimidate DC 20 check (+45xp) [Fear +1]
- Attack.
- Succeeding any of the checks lets you enter the village. Failing will leave you with two options: be banished from the village or attack.
- Being banished from the village will not let you enter again without a fight, except for entering through the palisade gap and going straight away for the Spirit Hut.
- Massacring the village is still a viable option. See interactions with Tig below.
- If you negotiated peacefully you will have access to several NPC inside the village.
- Virish in the Clutch Hut, next to the Vesket's hut. Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
- (Neutral Good) +36xp [Fear -1]
- (Chaotic Neutral) +36xp [Fear +1]
- Fashor next to the kennels:
- Diplomacy DC 20 for some XP
- Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
- (Neutral Good) +36xp [Fear -1]
- (Lawful Evil) +36xp [Fear +1]
- (Chaotic Evil) Attack.
- Tassath and Shalur at the garden.
- Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
- (Chaotic Good) +72xp [Fear -1]
- (Chaotic Neutral) You get [Fear -1] or [Fear +1] at random, but no XP.
- (Lawful Evil) +72xp [Fear +1]
- (Chaotic Evil) Attack
- Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
- Virish in the Clutch Hut, next to the Vesket's hut. Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
- In Spirit Hut you can talk with Tig, rolling a hidden Lore (Religion) DC 20 check in the start of conversation.
- "Don't be afraid, Tig. We'll get you out of here. Your mother loves you and is waiting for your return." [Fear -1]
- Asking him "Who or what exactly am I talking to?" opens up a Knowledge (Arcana) DC 20 check answer option.
- Asking him "Who are you? A ghost? Evil spirit? I need to know who I'm dealing with." will open up an additional answer option as long as you passed hidden [Lore (Religion)] check. Regardless if you fail or not the [Knowledge (Arcana)] one.
- However, passing the [Knowledge (Arcana)] check will give you an answer option to use Glitterdust on Tig to reveal Count Shimmerglow.
- Finally, "And what influential personage would that be? If you mean a god, I don't know of any gods in the world matching that description." an answer option that requires [Lore (Religion)] check will award you +112xp.
- If you leave dialogue with Tig, Lizardfolk King Vesket and four Lizardfolk Sentinel (No Shield) will come in.
- The main part starts if you say "Release the child immediately!"
- If you used [Requires Evil] dialogue option with Lizardfolk King Vesket, the wisp will release the child straight away.
- In all other cases he will ask you to bring him the rattler Kagar. You have several options how to proceed after that:
- [Use magic to make the spirit visible and attack] "I don't negotiate with monsters!" - if you passed the [Knowledge (Arcana)] check earlier and your party is able to cast Glitterdust as a spell or scroll.
- You get to fight Count Shimmerglow alone. After that you exit Spirit Hut and Dialogue (Lizardfolk Village - Confrontation) happens and you get to fight Lizardfolk King Vesket and two Lizardfolk Sentinel (No Shield).
- However if you let Lizardfolk King Vesket come in before that you get to fight everyone and the whole village will become hostile.
- Talk to Kagar and choose (Lawful Good) option. Count Shimmerglow will instantly kill Lizardfolk King Vesket. Kagar and Lizardfolk Sentinel (No Shield) will help you defeat Count Shimmerglow.
- Talk to Kagar and choose (Neutral Evil) option. Kagar will be killed and Tig freed. +240xp
- [Use magic to make the spirit visible and attack] "I don't negotiate with monsters!" - if you passed the [Knowledge (Arcana)] check earlier and your party is able to cast Glitterdust as a spell or scroll.
- Alternatively, if you massacred the whole village then you have only three options:
- Use Glitterdust, same as above.
- Bring Kagar to Count Shimmerglow, Tig will be freed. +240xp
- Kill Kagar, Tig will die and Count Shimmerglow gone.
Talk to the boy's mother at the capital tavern[ | ]
