Lost Child is a quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

Journal[ | ]

What kind of parents would let their child roam through woods where even seasoned adventurers might become something's snack? Looks like our {baron/baroness} may have to babysit {his/her} subjects — literally!
Find the missing child +135xp 1_FindTheMissingChild (ecf09b5bf2cb91c4a8b48dfb78212259)
Heeding the hopeless pleas of a poor village woman named Jenna Tannerson, we're heading out to look for her missing son, Tig — an innocent child who was fool enough to take a stroll through the dangerous forest. We should hurry, or the little brat could end up as a little pile of bones!
  • An old witch lives in the swamp that locals call the Narlmarches. Jenna's convinced that it was the witch who stole her boy.
    FindTheMissingChild_Add1 (f231effa547aa454c96c44c144f9a05b)
  • The witch doesn't know anything about the missing boy. She may be pretty cranky, but she didn't seem to be lying. So, where's the kid? And why would Jenna accuse the old lady? We have to talk to her at capital tavern.
    FindTheMissingChild_Add2 (c47a661a64c3ba8458a99875fe6b3c85)
  • The old hag preferred dying in battle over confessing her crimes. Actually, there may not have been any crimes — we didn't find any children in her hut. Awkward! I wonder why Jenna would accuse the old lady? We have to talk to her at capital tavern.
    FindTheMissingChild_Add3 (4d65badb7f968ae4f8e820f6307d7bec)
  • Mommy dearest confessed that she shouldn't have blamed the witch. The real story is that she got angry and shouted at the boy, demanded he leave. So he did. So irresponsible! The neglectful mother recalls saying she wished he'd go drown in Candlemere Lake. We have no better leads, so we may as well start looking there!

Save the child from the Lizardfolk Village +180xp 2_RescueTheChild (2958962314d9c6c4f9eeefdd770ae1fb)
Lizardfolk live in a village near Candlemere Lake. They're savages who won't hesitate to eat human meat (they'll even crunch on each other). We found out that they captured a human child. The boy is still alive... but for how long?
  • The village is surrounded by a high palisade, and there are armed guards at the gate. How are we going to get inside?
    RescueTheChild_Add1 (fc3abbabeeb54a7429a9bbfb44cea6ae)
  • An evil spirit keeps the boy hostage — he promises to let the kid go if we bring the old rattler to him in exchange. What do we do? Should we save a human life if the price is sacrificing an old lizard who never did us any wrong? Are there any other options?

Talk to the boy's mother at the capital tavern +600xp 3_BringChildHome (a16d084a60e85c842a726f280b70dd33)
We saved the boy from evil spirits, man-eating lizardfolk, and who knows what else! It's time to have a word with his mother at the capital.
Talk to the boy's mother at the capital tavern +300xp 4_ReportToMother (88071de5bb12df64e90e3da20035f0fc)
Sadly, we couldn't save the boy — an evil spirit killed him. We need to find his parents and deliver the tragic news.

Well, that's not what we expected when we went looking for that missing kid! But that's what the Stolen Lands are like: take a step past your fence, and you're likely to meet lizardfolk, evil spirits, or gods know what else! A paradise for adventurers, sure, but why do normal people still live here?

Find the missing child[ | ]

Save the child from the Lizardfolk Village[ | ]

  • At the Lizardfolk Village entrance you will be greeted by Kagar who will mention that Tig could be found in the village. The quest will begin if you haven't picked it up from Jenna Tannersen.
  • To free Tig you need to get into the village and deal with Count Shimmerglow.
  • You can enter the village in two ways: The main gates and the broken palisade to the east.
  • If you approach the Gatekeeper or get caught by lizardfolk after entering through palisade gap, you will be given several options to enter the village.
  • If you saved Rashor in Special Encounter (Rashor), you won't have to pass the checks or pay tribute to Gatekeeper. Otherwise your options are:
    1. Diplomacy DC 15 check (+18xp)
    2. Intimidate DC 15 check (+18xp) [Fear +1]
      • (Gates entrance only) Failing [Intimidate] check while having Regongar in party will let you pass.
    3. Pay 5 Camping supplies and rations if you entered through the gates, or 10 Camping supplies and rations if you got caught after going through palisade gap.
    4. Attack. The whole village will become hostile.
    5. Leave (only if came to the gates)
  • If you pick the peaceful way, you will be sent to Lizardfolk King Vesket's hut.
  • You can ask him about the missing child and convince him to let you see the child in following ways:
    1. [Requires Lawful]
    2. [Requires Evil] +480xp
    3. Diplomacy DC 20 check (+45xp)
    4. Lore (Religion) DC 20 check (+45xp) (Requires to ask him several questions about his tribe to appear)
    5. Intimidate DC 20 check (+45xp) [Fear +1]
    6. Attack.
  • Succeeding any of the checks lets you enter the village. Failing will leave you with two options: be banished from the village or attack.
    • Being banished from the village will not let you enter again without a fight, except for entering through the palisade gap and going straight away for the Spirit Hut.
    • Massacring the village is still a viable option. See interactions with Tig below.
    • If you negotiated peacefully you will have access to several NPC inside the village.
      • Virish in the Clutch Hut, next to the Vesket's hut. Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
        1. (Neutral Good) +36xp [Fear -1]
        2. (Chaotic Neutral) +36xp [Fear +1]
      • Fashor next to the kennels:
        • Diplomacy DC 20 for some XP
        • Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
          1. (Neutral Good) +36xp [Fear -1]
          2. (Lawful Evil) +36xp [Fear +1]
        • (Chaotic Evil) Attack.
      • Tassath and Shalur at the garden.
        • Make one of the alignment choices (or don't):
          1. (Chaotic Good) +72xp [Fear -1]
          2. (Chaotic Neutral) You get [Fear -1] or [Fear +1] at random, but no XP.
          3. (Lawful Evil) +72xp [Fear +1]
        • (Chaotic Evil) Attack
  • In Spirit Hut you can talk with Tig, rolling a hidden Lore (Religion) DC 20 check in the start of conversation.
    • "Don't be afraid, Tig. We'll get you out of here. Your mother loves you and is waiting for your return." [Fear -1]
    • Asking him "Who or what exactly am I talking to?" opens up a Knowledge (Arcana) DC 20 check answer option.
    • Asking him "Who are you? A ghost? Evil spirit? I need to know who I'm dealing with." will open up an additional answer option as long as you passed hidden [Lore (Religion)] check. Regardless if you fail or not the [Knowledge (Arcana)] one.
    • Finally, "And what influential personage would that be? If you mean a god, I don't know of any gods in the world matching that description." an answer option that requires [Lore (Religion)] check will award you +112xp.
  • If you leave dialogue with Tig, Lizardfolk King Vesket and four Lizardfolk Sentinel (No Shield) will come in.
