Burning Bridges is a quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

Journal[ | ]

The captain of the guard asked the {baron/baroness} for a small favor. Lately, Valerie, normally so polite and well-mannered, seems be picking fights on purpose! The captain is afraid that the girl might lash out at someone who doesn't deserve it... which, to be honest, has already happened more than once!

According to the captain of the guard, Valerie was seen arguing with the Storyteller lately... but what about?

The Storyteller remembered that not everyone was so resilient to Valerie's wrath, and recommended the {baron/baroness} take care of the more vulnerable of {his/her} court... I didn't know he was so sweet!

It's time to talk to the one behind all the turmoil. Valerie has some explaining to do!

We ignored our companion's request for far too long — and now it is too late. Oh well, that's just too bad.
Sometimes a simple conversation is all it takes to resolve a seemingly intractable conflict... especially if that conflict is unfolding inside a person!

Walkthrough[ | ]

  • Talk to Storyteller "The captain of the guard told me you had a fight with Valerie."
  • Talk to Linzi "Have you noticed anything strange about Valerie lately?"
  • Talk to Valerie "Valerie, we need to talk. You've been acting strange lately."
    • (Lawful Evil) and (Neutral Evil) responses will fail the quest.
    • The final lines will affect dialogue choices and Persuasion skill checks in Judgment of the Gods.
      1. "You've always said that beauty isn't really important. Are you changing your views now?"
      2. "You're letting your old beliefs cover your pain and disappointment. Let yourself grieve for what you've lost."
